You might experiment with minimizing the number of devices and see if it affects anything. Yes I’ve heard about that. I have an USB external storage device plugged in because I don’t have enough space for the update which need 16 gb I belive and I don’t want to remove any things like games because I play all of them. So that might be the problem which I can’t fix. Had same issue on wifes computer a few days. It prompted us to remove an outdated software. We ran the update and errored out couple hours later.
Made sure nothing was running and tried again and worked. Pc is about 4 years old. Once the create an iso is finished. Then select “upgrade this PC” on the window that appears. By doing this you are bypassing the download part of the upgrade. The thing that is downloaded is an actual iso from Microsoft servers.
So the above process takes that part out of the equation. I forgot to mention it’s actually windows 10 home. Now that I think about it it’s actually probably not gonna work because I have windows 10 pro. It should still work. Microsoft doesn’t provide a download for installation Media.
